Veterans Call to Conscience Speakers Bureau Joe Urgo Short Bio

I was a US Air Force Security Policeman from 1966 to 1970. I guarded nuclear weapons in the U.S. and was in Vietnam from Dec67 to Dec68. After my tour I became one of the national officers of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War. I helped organize everything from the Winter Soldier Investigation into U.S. war crimes in Vietnam to the demonstration in 1971 when hundreds of Vietnam veterans threw their medals at Congress. In Aug 1971 I was the first Vietnam vet to travel to Hanoi, North Vietnam on a peace mission. I have remained a political revolutionary for the past 30 years, currently a member of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War Anti Imperialist, and actively working in the Not In Our Name Project. I am very proud of signing the Call to Action with so many other veterans from a diverse, broad range of political views.
