The U.S. is like the Big Bully on the Block |
|
When you were a kid, did you ever see the big bully on the block go after the skinny weakling? Did you ever see him rough up the little guy with glasses? Taunt him mercilessly? Didn't it make you want to puke? Then what about the mighty superpower, the United States of America, going after little Afghanistan? Tormenting them mercilessly? Threatening them. Engaging in a massive campaign of disinformation? Isn't it the same thing? Shouldn't Amerika be ashamed of itself? We've got no business threatening that tiny little landlocked country in central Asia. We have cast ourselves into the same mold as Adolf Hitler when he bullied Chamberlain into coughing up half of Czechoslovakia. Moreover, Hitler had never sworn that he wouldn't behave that way. We have! The USA is in direct contravention of the United Nations Charter. We made demands on them and recklessly gave them ultimatums for no good reason. And now we are told that the Bush Administration is engaged in mass murder! The Bush Administration claims that the Afghans are harboring a Saudi national who is responsible for the attacks on our World Trade Center and on the Pentagon. For nearly a month, Bush claimed he had incontrovertible evidence that this guy, bin Laden, was the culprit. And finally, last week, they produced...nothing! Instead, Tony Blair screamed that he had a document that stated that someone heard bin Laden talking to his mother saying there would be an attack on the United States on September 11. Senator, that kind of hearsay garbage couldn't get a conviction in a traffic court! And we are told Bush went to war on that basis! End the madness. I hope that Bush just dropped some bombs in the desert. Now he can claim a glorious victory. He can get his media mavens to report that bin Laden has been destroyed and the threat is over. Then the troops can come home to victory parades with brass bands and confetti, and Bush can make speeches telling everyone what a wonderful patriotic hero he is. |
