We received the following letter from CCCO and we share not only their desire to get GIs out of the military but also the desire to keep the young people of this country from joining it in the first place. Let's really impact the military machine.
Dear Friends,
The GI Rights Hotline of the Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors (CCCO) needs help!
In recent years we've discovered that a crucial element to slowing the military machine is helping individual GIs GET OUT OF THE MILITARY. The result is the GI Rights Hotline, which is run by a nation-wide network of non-profits who provides information on military discharges, grievance and complaint procedures, and other civil rights.
The hotline took over 15,000 calls last year, and this year almost 20,000 calls are projected. Approximately two-thirds of these calls are answered in our Oakland office. We're swamped! The phones are ringing off the hook! We desperately need more volunteers to help us meet this need.
...
I'm writing to you to see if its possible for your organization to post our training flyer in your office/meeting space, post something about it in your newsletter or bulletin, and/or invite someone from CCCO to come and speak to your group about the GI Rights Hotline. If you know someone who may be interested in volunteering with us, please pass on this information!
Download a copy of the training flyer. If you would like for us to send you hard copies of the flyer for your organization to distribute, please let us know. For more information, call 888-231-2226 or email teresa@objector.org.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Peace,
Teresa Panepinto

We regret not posting this before a scheduled training session held in Oakland last weekend but agree with the need for a GI hotline and want to help in whatever way we can.
