        to what? to whom? are your sure? have you taken a pole?

            . . .to the flag. . .
oh, to a flag. . .a piece of cloth. . .a symbol. .an idea. . .

        . . .of the United States. . .
                            are we really that united? about the meaning of that symbol, of that idea?

                                        . . .of America

            which America? whose America? white America? black America?                 red America. . . ? or is it Amerika? or Amerikkka?

                And to the Republic. . .

                    you mean the Republicans. . . ? or the Democrats. . .?
or the 50% who vote. . .? the 50% who don't vote...

                                    . . .for which it stands. . .

. . .you mean the 10% standing on the top. . .? or the 25% squashed at the bottom. . .? or the 40% clawing to stay off the bottom...? or the 25% clawing to reach the top?

        . . .one nation. . .

            where? what color? what sex? what religion Amerikkka?

    . . .under God. . .

    which God? male god? female? Old Testament God? New Testament?
        Buddhist? Shinto? was Jesus white? unmarried Gay?

                                    . . .with liberty. . .

                    Liberty? You mean 'do whatever you want, whenever you want'? If you have enough money to pay, you have the right to play. . .?

        . . .and Justice. . .

        . . .no matter who it hurts, no matter who it enslaves. . .? Because the                                 market is never wrong. . .?
