Civilian Targets

During the Vietnam War, The U.S. Government unmercifully bombed civilian targets, not only in Vietnam, but in Laos and Cambodia. These deaths numbered in the tens of thousands. As a Vietnam veteran, I learned one profound truth, that is as old as warfare itself: You do not bring the enemy to the peace table by just killing military combatants, you ultimately bring the enemy to the peace table by killing innocent civilians. They are military targets! The reason mainstream Americans don't believe this reality is because mainstream media will never reveal this truth, which would dismantle most people's belief system. Whenever the truth threatens one's belief system, there is a strong tendency to deny its reality. This reaction is as old as human behavior itself.
